April was a good one.
We kicked off the month on Good Friday with brunch with cousins Ryan and Debbie, who stopped through on their way back from Portugal. Great way to start a holiday weekend. Easter followed — a nice day with Sarah’s mom Lynn and her fiancé Eric.
The big event of the month was the baby sprinkle/gender reveal. We had it at one of our favorite local spots, surrounded by family. Thanks to Xandria, we confirmed: it’s a girl! We’ve since set up what we’re officially calling the nursery, which is simply a lovingly arranged and decorated corner of our bedroom.
Harvey had his own highlight reel this month too. A birthday party for one of his swim class buddies turned into a full petting zoo situation – pony, sheep, goat, cow, chickens. He had a trip to the aquarium with Mommy and “Aunt” Emma. And with improving weather he also got outside a lot more and practiced his climbing and bubble blowing skills.
On the work side, we hosted an event on wills, trusts, and estate planning. It was a solid turnout and an interesting/educational presentation – exactly what we hoped for.
We also squeezed in a Sunday brunch with our friends Matt and Zia — Harvey was obsessed with their dogs Mila and Waffle and all of their dog toys.
We wrapped up the month with a hospital tour and our 36-week ultrasound. Going through the hospital, it all got very real. The to-do list is steadily getting shorter and May is here. By the end of this month, we will have a new member of the family.
We will see you on the other side and let you know how it goes!
